It's Been A While

Well, fellow readers, I have done it again.  Waited a long time to update this, and now I have an overload for you.  First of all, on January 30, 2013, Shailee turned 1!  But, we celebrated her birthday a few days early so we could go to Idaho to celebrate with family!  It was so fun, and Shailee got spoiled.  We had a great turn out, and Shailee had so much fun.

Shortly after, Shailee had her 12 month check up.  We waited in the room for at least 45 minutes!  It was so ridiculous!  By the time the doctor finally got us, and started poking at Shailee, she had had it.  She screamed and cried the entire time (but can you blame her?).  Poor little girl.  But here are her stats:
Weight: 21 pounds 4 ounces (50%)
Length: 30.25 inches (80%)
Head: 18.50 inches (90%)

Shailee checking out her present from her Uncle Tyson, Aunt Sarah, and cousins Vinny and Titus.  Vinny was very interested in what Shailee was getting, so Wes let him "help" Shailee open her presents.  It was pretty cute!

She was very interested in this, they had to set it up before everyone left! :)

Playing in the wrapping paper.

This is the cake that I made for Shailee.  We tried to dye the white frosting red, but no matter how much food coloring we put in it, it stayed this color of pink.  So she had a pink ladybug cake.  I wish I would have gotten a top view of the cake, but you get the idea of it here.  As you can tell, Lady Bug was her theme to this party, because she is our little Shai-Bug!

Singing "Happy Birthday"!

Starting to dig in.

Wes had to help her get started, but once she really had a taste of it, she was not shy about eating her birthday cake at all.

This was on Valentine's Day.  We had just gotten back from dinner.  On the way to dinner, Wes surpised me with a small boquet of roses. Then, he surprised me by taking me to my favorite restaurant ever!  Perkins.  He tricked me, and I had no idea, but was very excited about it!  It was a great Valentine's Day that I got to spend with my two favorite Valentine's!

On Shailee's acutual birthday, (sorry these are a little out of order) we had our own little celebration.  We got Shailee bubble bath and gave her her first bubble bath.  I think it is fair to say that she loved it!

This was Shailee's first time in a swing, and she loved it.  In fact, she loved it so much that we bought her her own swing and put in the tree in the backyard!  Sometimes she giggles, sometimes she just smiles, but most of the time she just sits in there and relaxes!  All in all though, she loves it!

Wes got 2 free tickets to the University of Utah's basketball game.  We decided Shailee was old enough that we could go.  She was very interested in what was going on down on the court, and walking in between mom and dad, and people watching.  Wes enjoyed it very much and is excited to go to some football games with Shailee this fall.

We took a little trip to the Aquarium one Saturday.  We are pretty sure Shailee enjoyed herself.  She even picked out a colorful stuffed turtle as her souvioner (sp?).  She liked it so much, she wouldn't let go of it in order for them to scan it when we tried to pay for it.  It was a good Saturday and a really fun trip there.

In other, exciting news, Wes and I bought a house! This is the front of it.  Also when we still had snow, it is all gone now.  We now live in Layton and will be here for a few years.  We all enjoy it, and Shailee has lots of room to walk and run!  We all have adjusted well.  Shailee exceeded our expectations and slept the first night all the way through and we haven't had any problems since!  Yay for our house!

This is the living room before...these couches were left here for our use if we wanted.

And after...

Another shot of the living room...

This is the front door...before there were no blinds above the door and so people could see inside at night...it was terrible, and I hated it...so we bought some vertical blinds and put them up!  So nice to have those up now!

This is our hallway...

Shailee's/guest bathroom before...

Shailee's/guest bathroom after...

They had these lovely shower doors on when we moved in, which would be fine and dandy if we didn't need to bathe Shailee and the future kids...

So Wes took those down, and now we have a "normal" bathtub!

This is the guest bedroom for now, until baby #2 comes along...and no, I am not pregnant.  They left us this twin mattress too.

Here is the guest bedroom after, and our old bed.  Now when guests come and stay, they have a bed they can sleep in, instead of the floor or a holey air mattress.

This is Shailee's room.  The desk and bed were also left for us.  Sorry, I have no after...when I was taking pictures and updating this, Shailee was in taking a nap.

This is our room...

Our room with our new King sized bed!  We LOVE it!

This is the downstairs family room.  Everything pictured here was left for us...and yes, that is working wood fireplace in the background!  I am excited to use it once we get our chimney cleaned.  Probably fall time.

Another before...

Here it is after with our couches we bought a year ago.  It is a sectional and we can arrange the pieces however we want!

We added this door at the foot of the stairs.  My parents brought my kitties from Rexburg up here, so we put this in while all 4 of them get used to each other, or if needed, just to keep them seperated until they can be in the same room without killing each other lol.

Our laundry room...before...they left us with this washer and dryer too!

After...don't mind the mess, I have been doing laundry lol.

Another spare room...before...right now it is being used as storage.

Another view of the storage room...

Storage room after...see told you I was doing laundry lol

The shelves that we can put food storage on...we've started with peaches!

Our extra wide, 2 car garage!  He left us with that snow blower!  He also left several tools, a lawn mower, and a trampoline out in the shed in the backyard!

My car on the other side of the garage.

Last weekend, my parents came up to bring the cats down and to spend some time with us.  We went to Hogle Zoo Saturday, and Shailee was a trooper.  She enjoyed walking lots, seeing people, seeing animals, and being spoiled by Nana and Papa!

This was on St. Patrick's day!  Shailee and I sporting our green!

Nana bought these cute shoes for Shailee, and they went perfect with her little dress!

Shailee and Nana looking at a picture book my mom made for her.

We got a nice family picture while they were up.  You can't tell in this picture, but my mom and I have the same shirt on.  We went shopping and found the same shirt and liked it!

Nana and Papa with Shailee!  We had so much fun with you guys here, and were sad to say goodbye!  Shailee always gets spoiled and she loves you guys lots!  Can't wait till next time!

Here is miss Jaycee May making herself right at home in the new cat tree.  We have the other two locked downstairs in this pictures...we switch them peroidically and will be introducing them to each other soon.

Tiger also made himself at home on the cat tree.  They have adjusted better than we expected.  Now the hard part comes with introductions.

There you have it!  I am all caught up.  I really hope to keep this updated a little bit better...but we will see how that goes.  We have been extremly lucky with our new home and everything that we got with it!  We feel blessed!  Until next time, take care!
